So what if you're not. Wear a white dress if you want to. If you get a few raised eyebrows, wink & blow kisses to them & walk away.

White, cream, champagne, ivory, buff, pale pink, etc., are great colors if you don't want pure white. Or having one as an accent color works too. On the David's Bridal website, I've seen white dresses edged with shades of blue, green & red. Why not opt for this & raise those eyebrows a bit more?! I've sourced a link to one below so you can see what I'm talking about. The dress shown is trimmed in Apple. There are 15 different colors to choose from. My favorite colors in that dress are Cornflower, Pool, Clover & Apple.

Remember it's YOUR day with your soon-to-be husband. It's about the love you two have for one another. Don't sweat over someone's old fashioned details.

I have been to a wedding where the bride was 6 months pregnant and she wore white. There was the kind of "ok who is she trying to kid" comments but at the end of the day its a wedding. The woman can wear white. There are no set rules anymore. I really wonder how many people are virgins when they get married these days. Just where whatever u want to wear. if people want to judge u they will no matter what u wear and if you think they will judge u why are u inviting these people to ur wedding. Enjoy YOUR day :)

There are hardly any virgins left out there! White is just the traditional color for the wedding dress. You can wear white and the only way someone will raise an eyebrow is if they're stuck in olden times. No one really cares anymore if you wear white or off-white or cream or whatever. It's your wedding, wear what you want! I'm not a virgin either and I'll be wearning white on my big day! Only two of my friends wore an off-white color on their wedding day and most of my friends are married. It's 2007, do what you want!

Good luck with your wedding!

Girl you can do whatever the hell you want. So what if somebody else has something to say. People are going to talk anyway, so you might as well give them something to talk about. Right? I am getting married in June and I am going to be wearing a beautiful white wedding gown and I can't wait to see the eyebrows. Me and my fiance live together so it's pretty obvious that we have had sex. But the whole white thing has gone out of style. Girls are now choosing to wear whatever they want. my friend got married in ivory because she liked the way the ivory dress looked. I say go for it and make a scene. It's the one day that you actually really can do whatever the hell you want because it's your day and it's all about you. Good Luck!

Here's a quote for you "Well behaved women never made history." lol! So true!

You can wear white because it has nothing to do with virginity. The first white wedding dress was worn by Queen Victoria in the 1800's and it caught on. Wearing a white wedding dress was a symbol of wealth as, in those days, a white dress could only be worn once since it got dirty. It is the veil that is a symbol of virginity and, quite frankly, even that's out the window. Wear white and enjoy! P.S. my associate wedding planner wore a ruby red wedding dress for her December 2006 wedding and she looked fabulous. Color is big in wedding dresses again.

Wear whatever you want. No one is stopping you. Many people believe that white means virginity but it really does not. White was introduced as a wedding dress color by Queen Victoria to symbolize that she was wealthy, nothing more. Only royalty could afford a dress in a color that was simply not practical to wear ever again. Thus she is incorrectly referred to today as the virgin queen. Over the years following, people were obsessed with how sexuality of any kind was evil, etc, thus the white no longer meant wealth as Victoria's intentions were, but now it was twisted into meaning purity and virginity when it never was to begin with

If you want to be technical about it, don't wear blue if you're not a virgin as that is the correct color for representing purity.

OMG/LOL...how old are you 13? You can wear whatever you like, it is your wedding. Especially since you are financing the thing yourself...
Place a little more emphasis on the things that are important and don't worry so much about ridiculous superstition. I know plenty of people who were not virgins, lived together or even had second & third weddings who wore white. The only people who judged are the people who have nothing else to talk about and should mind their business.

you should absolutely wear whatever color wedding dress you so choose. the tradition of not wearing a white wedding dress if you're not a virgin is very out because many people are not virgins when they marry. ignore any raised eyebrows because the day is all about you and your hubby-to-be, not anyone else. good luck and congrats!

Raised eyebrows?? If those who were not "virgins" couldn't wear white, you wouldn't see any brides in white. Of course you can wear what you want - white, black, pink, green, whatever. Those who are going to raise eyebrows instead of enjoying your wedding don't deserve to be there. Stop worrying about what stupid closed-minded hypcrites might think; worry about what YOU like, and enjoy the moment.

It's your day, you wear what ever you want. Besides, like you said, you and your fiancee are paying for the wedding. I'm wearing white too and I wouldn't care who raised their eyebrow at me because of it.
