"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of this world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without cause.'" - (John 15:18-25) Keep spreading God's LOVE no matter what.

Everyone is mean to everyone. That's life. You can't expect to be loved and accepted, even by other Christians. Just look at how many different denominations there are, and how much they fight and disagree. The atheists that responded to your question should be ashamed. That was just uncalled for. They know better. I'm ashamed to be asociated with them.
Skillet is my favorite Christian band. They're Christian rock. Their new CD is really good. Pillar is also Christian rock, but they're much harder rock. Relient K is also a great Christian band, but I'm not sure what other category they'd fall into. They're definetly not rock though. The majority of their music is funny stuff, it's not as religious. But Skillet is the one I would reccomend.

Years ago, folk singer Bob Dylan said,"people got knives and forks, and they gotta cut something."
Some people just go way beyond mature, intelligent dialoge, and make a career out of insulting people they perceive as "inferior" regarding philosophy, religion, politics, etc.
It's just nuts.
Look at some of the uglier conflicts of our generation.
Kosovo. "Ethnic cleansing?" What the heck is that?
Ireland. They don't even have much ethnic minorities, so they find a way to hate and kill each other over Protestantism vs Catholicism.
9-11 Is that not the most extreme example of religious intollerance?
So this guy's a "born again" and this guy believes in garden gnomes. Who the heck gives a rat's @zz?
Does it really matter?
I have some issues regarding the rather subversive religious motives in politics, but that's another story.
What's with all the slurs?
Is it just impossible for people to coexist peacefully?

Atheists bash chrisitians becasuse they think they are above anyone who dose not share there beliefs. Rather than excepting the fact that everyone is entitled to there own beliefs they attempt to shove theres down there throat and when they deny it they "cast" them away label them in ways such as ... "non-believers" , "athesits" , "devil worshipers" ..... things that mabey they are not ... funny cause there own religion teaches ...
not to cast the 1st stone , judge not , and Mr jesus christ himself with him all famous sermon on the mount states "come one come all" .... yet christains these days simply can not love one another no matter what they are thus giving atheists or whatever you may so choose to label them a reason to bash and retaliate against christians !!

Do you tell the pious and prayerful Buddhist that his religion is a cult, that God ignores his prayers, and that he's going to suffer in hell for all eternity?
Do you tell my deeply religious Jewish neighbor that God ignores his prayers and that he and his entire family are going to suffer in hell just for being Jewish?
Maybe you don't do these things and if you don't, good for you. But fundamentalist, bible-believing Christians do these things all the time and don't even understand how horribly insulting this is to people of other faiths. They will even call people of other faiths atheists. And then they wonder why people challenge them here.

I don't agree with the people making fun of the girl in your question. But I do have to say that there are bad apples in every bunch. There are people in every race and religion, that make everyone else in the groups look bad.
From the athiests point of view, most of us are just really frustrated with how Christians can blindly believe in a God they've never seen, and actually have the balls to push their beliefs onto others, quite relentlessly.

Don't take it personally. There are many uneducated people or ignorant teenagers on here as well that make fun of just about anyone regardless of race and religion. Just keep your faith strong. God will ask these ignorant people.

Ooooo....that's quite the generalization, isn't it? Not all atheists are mean...not all Christians are mean.
Unfortunately, too many Christians simply feel threatened when someone challenges them. I am a Catholic and I challenge plenty of fundies who love to challenge me but suddenly "don't have time" when challenged back. I wonder why not? Could it be that they are not as rock solid in their faith as some would have you believe?
I welcome the atheists on this site....and all others.

They're just taking cheap shots. It's not just Christians they bash. A lot of these answers are pitiful. Some people will stoop pretty low to get two points!
Don't take it personally. Understand that the world hates Jesus, and it hates us, too. They mocked Him, spat on Him, taunted Him --all while He was suffering intensely on the cross! Identify with Him; He's your friend, not the world.

It is not the people they hate, it is God in the people they hate. Good and evil are opposites. When they get on their soapbox about problems in the world but, when you look at a crucifix you realize Jesus did not do that to himself, evil hates good to the point that it can not help but be violent even if this means they use only words as bullets.
