How can it be idolatry to say Jesus is God. Idolatry is to worship something other than God. Jesus is God.

Jesus is not just the same as God, He is God. God in the form of the son, servant, to be an example for us. Father in the form or role of creator and Ruler. Holy Spirit in the role of the God that indwells in us all, yet all the same God. The trinity is misundertoos in the father being at the top of the pyramid, and the Son and Spirit a the bottom, it is like a shamrock. three leaves, each equally important. Or picture a wheel divided into three parts, yet the wheel is rotating. bottom is top, and top is bottom, etc. etc.
Any Christian who thinks Jesus is lesser than the Father is mistaken. Read John 1:1. He was there in the beginning, and nothing was created without Him.
Maybe a better example. Heart, Brain, and Lungs. Brain tells the heart and lungs what to do, but without the lungs to draw in oxygen and the heart to distibute it through the body the brain could not exist. All of our essential organs play a part, and one may seem more important than the other, yet the others cannot exist on their own.

Well you have a good point. In fact if you study Jesus' life anytime someone tried to worship him while on earth he told them only God the Father is worthy of worship.
When I was in college I questioned should we ever worship Jesus? Well at the end of Luke when Jesus is being ascended into heaven after his ressurection the disciples are worshiping him. Jesus could have corrected them but he didn't. So Jesus is only valid for worshiping because now he is in Heaven and One with the Father.
People who say that while he was on Earth Jesus was fully man and fully God, I think is an oxy moron. That is impossible. You can't be both. Was Jesus the Son? Of course! But he had to Pray to the Father while he was on earth, we should also pray to the Father.
IF you would like to discuss this or other issues with me feel free to IM me or EMAIL me.
UPDATE:
And to the person who posted and said Jesus did not refer to himself as the Son of God. Read your Bible more carefully. See Matthew 26:63-64

H20 exists as ice, steam, and water. 3 in 1. It is the doctrine of the Trinity including Father, Son, and Spirit, all of the same essence as you rightly discern.
A mistake which is often made is to make Jesus, Son of God - a title he avoids and specifically refers to all people. In MML, the singular title Jesus claims is Son of Man. This was blasphemous to the Jews. As God imparted the divinity into humanity through the ruah - translated as breath or Spirit - in creation, so imparted the divinity/self into Jesus in the Incarnation - literally "enfleshment." Thus Jesus states in the more theologically advanced John, that Jesus and the Father are 1.

Christianity accepts God, Jesus, and the holy spirit, three beings, as one. This way it can still claim adherence to Old Testament monotheism. Messed up logic though... Look at it from Russel's take on Frege; Russel's paradox. Jesus, God, and the holy spirit are all members of a class: the divine. God, however, is divine. Thus God is both the class and a member of the class.

No, Jesus is God all by Himself.
Jhn 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jhn 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Jhn 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Jhn 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Jhn 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Jhn 1:6 ¶ There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John.
Jhn 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe.
Jhn 1:8 He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light.
Jhn 1:9 [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Jhn 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Jhn 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Jhn 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
Jhn 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Jhn 1:14 ¶ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Whoever said:
'we dont pray at Jesus we pray at God because Jesus is not God.'
.......is a heretic.

No, because Jesus is a part of God (God in three persons... God the Father, Jesus the Savior, Holy Spirit which is left to guide us) He in fact is worshipped like God.

If you say you know we don't hold Jesus and God at the same level then you don't know as much as you think. Christians believe in the trinity. Each is a seperate personality but all are God

Jesus is God in man's image. He is His "son" because He was God in a man's body. A "piece" of Him anyway. The Bible says that Jesus is the way to God. I think of it as if your life were on trial and you are standing before a judge (God). Satan is your prosecuter...saying "see ALL the sins this person committed during their life..." and Jesus is our defender...telling God about the good in all of us, because that's all Jesus sees really. I hope that helps and I sincerely appreciate your asking this question in a respectful way. I also apologize for the people calling you names because they aren't helping to spread Christianity!
