I have tried OPEN OFFICE and it doesn't operate a lot like EXCEL. I doesn't do auto sum for example. Are there others like Open Office that are free downloads?

I checked the open office forums regarding auto sum. I don't know how accurate this is, but it says:

In excel the auto sum button gets clicked twice, in Open Office, you click the auto sum button, and then the = sign next to the auto sum button on the toolbar.

Open Office is the best free alternative imho. For reaason of copyright, it cannot offer the same look and feel of excel. Autosum is implemented differently. It takes a bit of time to get used to it. One alternative is to buy used licenced copy of Excel. Anything from Excel97 is good. I am using Excel 2000 and see little need to upgrade.
