Corruption begins because the corrupt ones don't have any fear of getting caught nor is anything done so that they along with their family feels embarrsed or ashamed in front of the society. What steps should be taken so that before accepting a bribe the officer would think a hundred times. What can a common man do at that very moment to punish the corrupt officer or politician so that the whole world knows it?

One ordinary citizen cannot afford to stand against such powerful officials. Generally speaking. Not always. Therefore the best way to protest and bring erring officials to task is to garner support from near and dear and protest. This kind of demonstration would be visible to one and all and it would generate some amount of curiosity within the society.

I have seen some of the answers suggesting to approach the media. Do you know this fact of which I am aware and many are not. This media personel when they get hold of some information or foottage of corrupt officials or politicians, they blackmail these guys and bargain for huge prices. Earlier we used to depend on the police when they were supposed to be good. Later on came the politicians or the leaders and then the goondas or daadaas. Now we people want to depend on these media people. I wonder whether we will be able to shed this parasitic attitude of ours.

Even if one person has to stand against the evil, I would support that person, no matter what.

I think the step to eradicate corruption should come from eah and every citizen - unless u stop paying, the corrupt politicians or officers wont stop accepting.

Every indian should make a pledge never to pay / accept bribes and FOLLOW the same.

For starters, if u know of corrupt officers / politicians, then u can call one of the hungry television news channels who will publicise the issue and politicise it - but there is no guarantee the news channel wont sell the story for some selfish benefit - afterall everybody is starving for money & publicity

the common man can just call out to the people around him
the whole thing must be told to all of them then the officer will get frightened to ask bribes from an unknown person and even people will be alert the next time but to stop the officer wholly from taking bribes is impossible until he himself realises that corruption is injurious to the society and is a spreading disease

If you actually know of corruption, report it to the FBI. People go to jail for accepting bribes all the time. However, be sure what you have is "corruption," not "I disagree" or "I don't like..." corruption requires a quid pro quo, taking something for doing something. Just disagreeing with you is not corruption. And you need facts, not just a supposition that someone is taking ILLEGAL money from special interests. It is not illegal to take legal campaign contributions and then vote with the giver and against you. Unfortunate, sometimes, but not corrupt.

Politicians, worldwide extensive, have an obligation to represent the common citizen and make judgements on their behalf. yet, their behaviour is similar to Earls, Dukes, and Kings. very like nobility of yester Europe, those so called leaders are chosen from a limited pool of the elite, the place blood strains and family members background in many circumstances grant the only skills of a candidate. those persons are no longer familiar voters. Hailing from their Ivory towers, they have little concept of the plight of those whom they in many circumstances seek advice from as "the little human beings". those are no longer adult adult males of innovative and prescient. those are adult adult males of greed and self importance, who place much better emphasis upon conserving their own status and potential above love of united states of america or concept-relating to the interest of average voters. Their loyalty lies no longer with the rustic, yet extremely to their respective Political events, whose survival and ideologies grant the avenues for his or her persevered status.

Get it out in the open for the public to judge. Unfortunately this is the only way. You had better make sure you have solid proof before you accuse.
