Yeap, it sure does. Why would YHVH be so darn jealous of other Gods if there weren't any.
I like your screen name BTW.

You didn't know this? There are many gods people have created and worship in their minds. Today that concept has shifted to cars, boats, even sex.. Anything a person put above God in their heart and mind is a god in a place before the God of all creation... Jim

Some concider satan thair god... others carve rocks into god's... some make an animal their god... that dose not make them real but they still are being placed in a position of being worshiped... that is what is forbidden by the commandment not to have other "gods"

NO!!! God is the only God. When He wrote the 10 commandments, the israelites had created a golden idol to worship so that is why that rule came into play.

well that means that you should put God first in your life. Example:
if you watch tv ALL the time and won't make time for church, then you are breaking the commandment.
(or) if you LOVE your money more then God, and spend it on ungodly things or don't give offerings, then that is an idol.

Yes. It is a holdover from the days when the Hebrews were polytheistic and Yahweh was the preeminent one, much as Zeus was to the Greeks.

No it does not. If you look carefully in your bible you will see that "gods" is not capitalized. It therefore is symbolic of all that many people "worship" (as in putting it first and foremost instead of God) such as money, fame, earthly possesions, etc... I hope I cleared things up for you. God Bless.
