I am looking for a duet that I can sing with my best friend for our music class. It's supposed to be a "popular" song so preferably not broadway. Can anyone help me??

How about Enough is Enough? It's Barbara Streisand and Donna Summer. There's also a pretty one from the movie The Prince of Egypt that Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey sing. I can't remember the name. When You Believe? Something like that. Take Me Or Leave Me from Rent is pretty cool if you're OK with lesbians : )

I can't think of any that AREN'T Broadway, but some that are Broadway are:
Stepsister's Lament- Cinderella
Marry The Man Today- Guys and Dolls
What You Don't Know About Women- City of Angels (personal favorite)
Popular- Wicked
For Good- Wicked

You could definitely just google "female duets" and I'm sure a ton would come up.

A very popular duet right now would have to be from the musical Wicked. "For Good" is an amazing piece with beautiful harmony's and a really great moral message. If you were to go for a more humorous duet I would recommend Wicked's "What is this feeling" it is not as harmonically challenging as "For Good" but it still is a GREAT piece. Coming up with a non-musical female duet is going to be EXTREMELY difficult and to tell you the truth I can't think of one popular song. I would recommend going for a duet in a well known musical such as Wicked and just sing it to the best of your ability. Once again I HIGHLY recommend Wicked's For Good. Take Care!!! and Break a leg!

"Bosom Buddies" from MAME is always a hoot, but why not try "Sisters" from WHITE CHRISTMAS? Bette Midler just recorded it on her Rosemary Clooney tribute cd.
