I was scheduled to fly from Austin, TX to Washington on December 6, 2005, at 6:55 AM, and then on the 7th, fly from Dulles to Chicago to Tokyo.
The airport was iced in. United had one de-icer, and it broke. We sat on the plane, and then in the airport, and then back on the plane, back into the gate area, back on the plane, and at 5 PM, almost 11 hours after we boarded, they cancelled the flight and had us go to the main lobby to get re-ticketed. After an hour in line, they could not get me to Washington, so I took an alternate flight to Chicago to meet up with my Tokyo-bound plane the next day. That flight was scheduled to leave at 8 PM. That was the night the Southwest airlines flight skidded off the runway in Chicago, so at 10 PM THAT flight was cancelled when they shut down Chicago. So I went to the airport Hilton, and back to the Austin airport the next morning, where, 24 hours after my originally scheduled flight, I finally took off, to the wrong town on the wrong day, but at least in the direction I was trying to go.

The longest flight delay I have seen was when I worked for the airlines in Las Vegas. We had to bump some people from a flight because of weight restriction/weather problems. It was while some huge conventions were in town so all the other flights were full, and we couldn't get them on another flight for 3 days. All the hotels in town were booked solid so those people lived in the airport for 3 days. Everyday I would come to the airport, clock in, and say hi to my good buddies laying on the floor of the terminal. Then they would stare at me angrily for 5 hours during my shift, and we would do the same thing the next day.

The longest flight that I have taken, as in non stop flight, was from Copenhagen to New York. It was a bit over 9 hours.
The longest flight delay I had was when my flight from New York to Amsterdam was overbooked and they put me up in a hotel for the night as they re-booked me on the next flight the following day. It was around a 24 hours delay.

9 hours formerly flight from Dublin to Lake Garda as a results of cabin ailment? Ya wa? We had no longer left the airport . We have been given 5 pounds to spend interior the airport for the 9 hours. They cound no longer make up there ideas no count if it became cabin ailment or countless different issues . It became relatively flippant. 2nd time not on time on BMI flight mutually as on board. We in no way have been given off floor as a results of fact they have been having a situation with between the get away shoots. They cound't fix it or replace it so as that they offloaded a % of the passengers. Took 3 hours. neglected my connecting flight as a effect. had to thoroughly replace my commute plans concerning 3 ladies on my own at nighttime on a dingy prepare by means of Italy.(We neglected the final Eurostar i think of) and in no way recieved a cent repayment for any of it. Connecting flights have continually been a nightmare. I hate airports i think of you're taken care of like crap

I'm so sorry zirconiag, you are a liar! The longest scheduled flight is EWR-SIN on Singapore Airlines is 18 hours and 35 minutes. I have not been on this flight and my longest is probably ORD-NRT.
