i mean i'm a virgin & hope to remain so until i meet a person i really love.(maybe this is because of my culture,i'm asian)by the questions asked,& the answers given,i see that a lot of people prefer non-virgins.i mean doesn't it bother you that your husband/wife has slept with other people before?there are even 12 year olds who are non-virgins.isn't sex supposed to be an intimate act between two people who are very much in love?even my friends keep asking me why i have such "dum" thoughts according to them.
just asking your opinion-cheers!

ok.i understand, gaining experience is one thing, but actaully knowing that the person you're going to marry or is married to(the person you're in love with & want to spend the rest of your life with),did something as intimate as that-doesn't that hurt?

I agree with you totally. I was a virgin when i got married & it really made my husband feel special, knowing he was my first.
I dated a guy who had several sexual partners, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. I'm glad i didn't end up marrying him, i would not have felt special at all, i would have been like just another girl to him. Nothing special!

The funny thing is when you are a virgin it seems like everyone else isn't, but as soon as you make that plunge and cross into the "non-virgin" realm, suddenly everyone you meet still has their virginity intact. I always believed I would be a virgin until I was married. Actually, more than believed, I was completely adamant about it. However, one fateful night with the boyfriend I told myself I loved and a 12-pack of Heiniken, the 19 years of adamancy were obliterated with one night of "passion." I don't believe in regret, mostly because it doesn't do to dwell on changing the past, I believe in learning from mistakes and moving into the future. But if there is one part of my life I regret, it was that night. I guess now I am just holding out hope that someone out there will someday love me as I always meant myself to be, not as one night of alcohol, false love, and stupidity made me.

So if the person you want to be with the rest of your life kissed another woman before he met you, is that hurtful too? Some people think kissing is a sacred thing that should only be done between loved ones.
If you think about sex as a means to reproduce our species, then love may not have anything to do with it. I know some religions allow men to have multiple wives too... so how does that make you feel if you had to share your husband with other wives?
Really you are in control of your own situation and I feel its a good thing to not give up your moral & values. Stay a virgin until you are sure you are ready and don't give into peer pressures.

Good for you. I know in this country we dont put the same value on a womans virginity that we once di, and thats O.K, but you are not in any way required to follow the crowd. lately it seems almost like a race to see who can lose it earliest. And it seems that the same lack of thought is placed on marriage, it seem anymore that it's rare for a marriage to go beyond 2 years. Anyway, I digress, yes by all means stick to your traditional values, I think you'll find that your eventual marriage will last longer than the girl who gave it up on the first date, as you place a higher value on yourself. And anyone who either can't understand, or possibly even belittles your feelings on this isn't even worth your trouble.

Your values and beliefs are a big deal. You should be proud to save your viginity for the one you love. A lot of people might "talk" about it and say they have done it before but really there are more virgins out there than you think. Most of my guy friends talk and joke about it but they themselves are still virgins. It also seems like there is a double standard where people think it's ok for a guy to lose his virginity and not ok for a girl to lose her virginity before marriage. I'm waitin for marriage and expect the same from my future wife. Stay strong and don't go with the flow...

There's nothing wrong with being a non-virgin, there's nothing wrong with being a virgin. Sex should be between two people who love each other. It didn't bother me to know that my partner wasn't a virgin, heck, neither was I. But the fact remains that that's the past, not now.

Congraulations on being a virgin. Most people want to be with a non-virgin because they want someone who is a little or more experience than them. Sometimes they will end up getting married and sometimes they won't. One thing for sure is that you never forget your first.

You aren't dumb. You are very smart to be saving yourself for the person that you love. Thats the way it should be. Maybe there wouldn't be so many diseases out there if more people thought like you. Good for you, sometimes I wish I would've waited. I have a kid out of wedlock, but I don't regret it. I was an adult when I had her.

I think the same way as you do.. if my fiance had done other sexual stuff with someone besides me, I would be hurt... not that I could do anything about it or whatever, but yeah.. it would hurt b/c I wasn't his first... but we were both virgins with next to no sexual experience, and I'm really glad for that..

I completely agree!! Once it's gone you'll never get it back so you might as well give it to someone who's actually worth it. If a guy doesn't respect my decision then I take it he doesn't truely want me, so he can go screw other girls and get some undiscovered STD lol
