I am suprised by some of the replies from this question thus far. Satan himself was known as being the most beautiful angel in heaven....knowing this how can one generalize that an atheist is not educated in theology or the bible? I think atheists and christians could learn alot from each other.

I agree with you if you modify your statement to mean SOME Christians. Anyone, regardless of his or her religious affiliation, who is truly eager for truth will gain something from discussions in this forum.

We should also realize that a good number of so-called Atheists are seekers of truth in their own right; only that they have not found a path that suits them. They would rather stay uncommitted than follow what they believe is not truth. This does not make them less spiritually developed than their committed Christian friends.

Incorrect. The Bible refers to something known by most Christians as "Spiritual Truth", something that can only be acquired when one truly becomes saved. To the unsaved, the Bible is little more than a History book. But to the saved, the Bible opens up truths about God that cannot be discovered otherwise. The key is in the heart. If one's heart is opened to Jesus, one's mind is then and only then able to comprehend the spiritual truths that God has prepared for us.

Absolutely Not!

--The "Bible", you have to be kidding---- that would be like giving credit to the false teachers of astrology for the true science of astronomy!

--If you as resident atheists, showed a reasonble degree of respect for what you call "god" the "bible" and did not go in your attack mode so often, perhaps you might have stimulated some reasonable argumentation!

--We know your future postings will exhibit the same contempt for God, The Bible, Christ, etc.
--For there is harldy a trace nobliltiy about your postings, your disposition is very evident!

--You really think you deserve any credit--hardly?

You've got to be kidding. Way to generalize (yet again) that all Chrisitans are clones who just do what they have overheard in church and athiests as bible scholars. I've spent a lifetime in Bible study and don't pretend to have the answers, but I do learn from athiests how to better defend it. Most athiests here, pick a single verse out of context and try to demonstrate a contradiction.

I'm sure it's more likely that they've learned how to talk to atheists, and how atheists really think as opposed to what a pastor or author has told them.

I disagree. Atheists know very little about the Bible and its interpretation, and what they do know results from a casual, insincere skimming of it, not from in-depth study.

Intelligent Christians certainly have. You learn by questioning.

Those atheists can't tell me anything new.
It's not like I was born yesterday, don't you think I've had the questions too.

No. Had they done so, they would no longer be Christians.
