Careful with baking soda-it can zap electrolytes and cause a problem. I have good luck with these little breath tabs from Target (in a blue container with a golden on the front-200 in a bottle for $3.99) they have chloraphyl, rosemarry, and mint oil in them. I gvie one in the am food, two in the pm food and she has very neutral breath. She used to have typical dog breath. It also helps her gas. My girl is a Brittany and she had a problem with eating, well, things found in the yard lets say. I still brush her mouth with just a wet cloth but the pills are the only thing that have helped the smell! Good Luck.

You should use dog specific toothpaste to brush his teeth. It comes most often in chicken or beef and it leaves their breath a bit cleaner. I would definately reinforce the suggestions about to see a vet. Bad breath can be a sign of many problems including gum disease. They do also make dog mouth "wash" that is available at some pet stores. Some come in a spray you can spray in the mouth others go in the drinking water.

You probably need to take your dog to the vet and have his teeth cleaned . All the brushing in the world is not going to help until you get all the calculus and plaque off the teeth

Your best bet is to call up the vetrinarian and ask him/her about it. It could be a serious health problem or it could just be dog breath.

Have you had his teeth checked? Does he have a gum infection? It might be the dogfood he is eating.
