Cats have sensitive stomachs. Sugar isn't a smart treat to give any animal. All animals love sweets but that doesn't mean you serve cookies. Talk to your Veterinarian for sweet treats for you cat.

Yes cats can taste sweets. Most animals have a sweet tooth. My one cat loves chocolate kisses and will tare the bag open to get to them.

No, they cannot. They do not have receptors for sweet. They are still able to smell. A lot of what we erroneously attribute to taste is actually smell.

I am not sure. I just wanted to let everyone know that Chocolate can kill a cat. Even as little as 1 oz. Please do not feed chocolate to your cats!
