I broke up with my ex of 3 years about 4 months ago. After braking up with her she took a few things of mine. I couldn’t get any of the stuff back so I settled for breaking it. Even though I owned these things I don’t have any proof and neither she. I had been planning to join the Navy before all of this happened, if I lose this case would I still be able to join, after paying whatever fines. I haven’t told my recruitment office about any of this just because of my own embarrassment.

I just talked to my recruitment officer about this and he says yes I can still join. But I might have to hold off a few more months. Depending on if I get probation or not.

Forget embarrassment.........tell them. I think a misdemeanor won't hurt your chances. Good luck and Thank you in advance for your service.

For the FINAL answer, talk to your recruiter. As a retired Navy, I'd say there should be no problem, but I've been retired longer than I was in, so changes might have been made.
Welcome aboard if it all works out!

A Class C misdemeanor will not appear on your records because records of them aren't kept. So, if you were convicted of a Class C...you're fine.

All others will appear should they be located in the county of offense. This is true for Texas anyway.

If you were convicted of a Class C (speeding ticket, simple assault, etc) I would say nothing and no way you ever get "discovered".

Yes, depends on the branch you're going into and their judgement. Please think about your decision VERY carefully. It's not all roses and "hoorah"...

Do you REALLY have NOTHING to do with your life? Any dreams or aspirations? Any brain of your own to make decisions for yourself? If you want to be trapped in an a s s backwards world for 4-6 years... by all means. But if you have NOTHING to do with your life, no brain of your own and no dreams or aspirations, go ahead, that's all the military is anyways. Empty or broken dreams of empty people who have nothing better to fill their lives with. They're sad creatures who wouldn't be worth a dime in the civilian world.
