My son is 2 (will be three in april), and i am running out of ideas for what to feed him at lunchtimes...it always seems to be sandwiches, a few pieces of fruit and a drink..then a packet of yougart covered raisins.

He doesnt seem to mind the same thing all the time, as he always eats it all, but i want to give him something else for a change!!

Any ideas??

Fantastic, a mother with my veiws on kids food. I'm 23 don't give my son any rubbish or chips etc either. My son is 2 but the principles are the same. Have you tried your own variations of what other children have? Make your own fish fingers, cut white haddock into strips, dip in egg and your own breadcrumbs, same with chicken to make nuggets or chicken strips, I always grill mine to ensure there is no rubbish. You can make your own ice cream by adding pureed fruit to fromage frais, put it in the freezer and stir every half hour to prevent ice crystals. Homemade potato croquetts are a big hit, mashed potato dipped in egg and bread crumbs, oven at 190 till golden, all this stuff freezes wondefully if you like to cook in advance. Making your own ravioli is great too as you can change the contents, cheese and mushroom, sweet potato and carrot, parsnip and butternut squash are excellent with you own tomato sauce. I grow a lot of veg in our small garden so I know exactly what my son is eating and most of it is affectively free.

I have a two year old boy who will be three in July and he loves Pasta with a bit of grated cheese, I don't know if you're a meat eater but Quorn is a versitile and healthy option.
You could make home made pizza with a wholemeal base.
Experimentation, I have found is the best way to feed a fussy child or when it just gets to the point when you run out of ideas! and it is the most fun!
I stand my boy on a chair when I'm cooking or just making him a sandwich and let him help me, that way he sees what is going on and because he has helped he feels a sense of achievement and independence and enjoys his food more, hope that I've helped!

stuffed pitta bread, raw carrots peppers ect and make a dip. I make my own chicken nuggets, chicken fillets cut, dip in flour then in some beaten egg, then in breadcrumbs, i add paprikka to the egg, and cook in the george foreman or frying pan.

Pasta with veg and a bit of grated cheese, mine love peppers onion and sweetcorn.

Make french bread pizza, that way you can add what you like and its all good unlike shop bought.

Soup is another favourite, with a bit of crusty bread.
Scrambelled egg.

Most kids dont mind eating the same thing, its all part of the routine, my girls normally always want the same thing over and over again.

Keep up with the fruit along with the other things, he sounds he going be a healthy happy adult.

All infants eat otherwise and diverse quantities. that is what they eat that's significant and how balanced their nutrition plan is. as long as your baby is an outstanding weight and coming up properly, i might say all is advantageous! I even have 2 very energetic boys (2 and 3years) who eat me out of residing house and residing house. they might actually eat all day if I enable them to. They eat 3 sq. nutrition and then have healthy snacks in between jointly with fruit, a small sandwich, rice crackers and so on. They occassionally have goodies and chocolate as a cope with and that they are in a position to have pudding in the event that they eat their considerable nutrition properly. I enable them to eat as lots fruit and veg as they choose to and the fruit bowl is often open for them to graze. the two are checked via our interior reach health facility and coming up advantageous. My friends 3 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds are all diverse - some eat like birds - little and in many circumstances - choosing and others eat like my young infants. All are coming up properly :)

Mac N Cheese, Hot dogs, pasta with beef, spaghetti....the list goes on and on. Just watch the yougurt covered raisins as oftentimes the "yougurt" is actually sugar! How about some baby carrots and dip instead?

Why don't you let your son choose with you. Take him to the fridge and take him through the healthy options, that way he can get involved in food and you can learn a bit more about what he likes.

I do this with my daughter, she chooses cheese, carrots, tomatoes etc.

You can have a bit of fun with it too!!

How about some soup, a little messy but kids have great fun dunking in some bread, or scrambled egg on toast ( especially if they help out, i find kids always enjoy it much more when they have had a part in making it! )
