If you don't believe in God or Jesus or the Bible, why do you care about the questions and answers in the religious section? Are you on a mission to "convert" the believers?

All I'm saying is, if you don't believe, why do you ask questions concerning God? I see plenty of questions beginning with... Why do Christians believe blah blah blah. I don't mind the questions, in fact, I encourage them because I like answering them through my faith. It is the Christian bashing and name calling that upsets me. I'd like to tell you what an idiot I think you all are, but that wouldn't be very "Christian" of me, so I won't tell you what an idiot you are.

Good question...

It'd be like Christians going to an atheist website and preaching all day... that'd be sorta annoying, wouldn't it.

That's a good question. Atheism takes a certain amount of faith, blind faith but faith non the less. I believe they like being around other folks who have faith. There seems to be a part of most atheist that wants to be proven wrong. What they don't understand is that my arguments or apologetics are not going to give them faith in Christ. Only God can give an individual that type of faith. If you think they're bad here go to Christian Chat room 4 to hear some real agnostics or atheists argue. I think most of those guys are non-believers.

You asked if atheists are on a mission to convert others. You can't be serious. It's religion that knocks on peoples doors, hands out tracts, advertises on TV and preaches hellfire to all who are not like them. Step back and take a realistic look at this. Atheists aren't out to convert anyone. But it's the foundation of religion....christianity in particular. When was the last time an atheist knocked on your door asking you to convert? And after reading the "additional details" you've now written into your question....I think you are one of the poorest examples of a christian I';ve ever seen here.

simply by fact the factor of the section is to communicate faith and spirituality, no longer practice it. Athiests in basic terms do no longer have faith in a deity; that would not propose they haven't any interest in discussing the subject material. i do no longer think in dwarves or elves, however the Lord of the rings is taken into consideration one of my sought after books and that i'm up for a communicate approximately it any time. i think extraordinarily much the comparable way with reference to the Bible. EDIT: additionally, in my specific case, i'm searching for women persons who've shown themselves to be suggestionable.

It's a safe way to "push back". Because of your numbers in this society, christians can and do frequently "ambush" non-christians in overhelming numbers. Asking insanely stooopid questions like, "Would you take a bullet for Jesus?", "Who wants to be saved?", "Who needs to be saved?", "Are you ready for the rapture?", "What would Jesus do!?!"

Non-Christians can not respond safely under such conditions. But we can do so here.

And if you noticed, the topic is not "Christianity", it is "Religion and Spirituality". An athiest can be spritual and some (agnostics) regard Athiesm as a religion. Also, Christians are not in the majority world wide. Christians represent only 1/6 the population of the Earth.

So what makes you think this forum is just for you??

I love how you specified that anybody who doesn't believe in god, jesus or the bible should get out... What about those who believe in Brahma? Tamuz? Vishnu? Loki? Odin? Buddha? Allah? Zeus? Osiris? Horus? Adonis? Appleonius? See, your very question expresses your ignorance and your blind prejudice.

That's why I, as an atheist, feel compelled to combat such ridiculous fantasy and immoral judgment. You are not accepting of others, so I'll try and turn that back on you.

Not to mention I think most atheists like to try and convince some of you dogmatic types because we feel sorry you're wasting your time on unicorns, giants (both of which are considered real if you read the bible), fairies and the like. Not to mention any sensible person would abhor the cruel and vindictive biblical "morals" of killing disobedient children, killing those who work on Sunday, killing adultresses, slavery is ok, and so on.

Great question!!!! I think atheists spend more time thinking about God than they realize. Let's face it, nobody really knows the true answers to these questions about God. People who believe in God due so because they have faith, not proof. If there was proof there would be no need for faith. We make choices and atheists have made the choice not to believe. But because they are in a world in which 97% of people are believers of some sort, they are curious to see what they are missing?

when answering questions, i don't look in just one section. i look in the ALL section.

And Religion and Spirituality, is not restricted to christianity so any belief can post questions or answers. NOT JUST CHRISTIANS. grow up and accept people have different religions and beliefs from you, as long as they are not deliberately or maliciously insulting you, leave them alone

OKAY i see your added comment, they are making you question your belief, which is healthy to do now and again, blind faith, is no good. about as good as ignorance, we have to expand our minds. even christian belief has changed over the last 2000 years, and will need to change again , in order to survive the future. when we head into space we could meet creatures with their own gods.

Hiya. This question is asked every few days or so. And it is asked in the group called "Religion & Spirituality", not "Discussion forum exclusively for Christians". Atheists like to discuss religion, too. Besides, one in five questions is directed at them.

I'm not interested in discussing christian issues like "will god forgive me if I have premarital sex". So I stay away from those questions.

To educate ignorant people that think that all religious people believe in God Jesus and the Bible.

Now go preach to people that need to get the hell out of the Royalty and Celebrity Sections.

(I'm Christian).
There are a couple of types of Athiests who join in here at R&S:

The ones that are just immature people who like to try to shock people with statements, you know, like a kid who might dye his hair bright pink to upset mom and dad.

Then, there are those who are wickedly angry;
so venomus and nasty that I personally believe they are doing the work of their father, small f.

Then there are those who don't know exactly why they are here; they just find themselves in this forum. They consistantly say that they are here because religion is being stuffed down their throats, but yet, they are the ones who push the button and come here.
As of todays date, there have been no police or other authority who has come into my house and forced me onto a specific yahoo forum, how about you?

For those who come here and yet do not know why; I am glad they are here. Not to stuff anything down their throats, but just because maybe if their life is miserable, they might find some peace.
God knows.
