It is a bowl w/the top resevior. fills itself when the bottom is empty. He gets lotsss of attention.we love to cuddle w/him but he's kinda crabby.he don't like too much affection.he loves h2o.he plays in the shower when some1 finishes one.he will drink the h2o then just pick up the heavy bowl w/his teeth until he can tip it over. he usually does it when we aren't watching but I hid and caught him.

He's probably just playing. A couple of suggestions....some cats are allergic to plastic, maybe he's trying to tell you something. Try a metal bowl. Also, assuming that plastic is not the problem, get one of those pet self waterers that have a large reservoir container and release the water as the level drops. They hold about 2 quarts of water and he would have to be exceptionally determined to be able to knock it over. I have lots of cats and they have never tipped it over, they've managed to make it slosh out a bit occasionally, though.

I used to have one of those water dishes that continually filled the bowl. It worked out fine until the cats discovered they could make it go "glug...glug" by thumping, banging and biting it. I would come home to find an empty water bowl & a lake in the kitchen.
I moved it to the basement for awhile so they could play with it down there & the water just ran down the drain. The two of them would play for hours until it was empty.
Solution: Put his water in a ceramic bowl that he can't tip or a stainless steel bowl in a stand.

Well, many animals including cats love to play around with you and they just want to have fun. Or, he wants to show you a neat trick that he has learned. Also, cats hate water, except for mine, but that doesn't matter, so, he probably doesn't want to touch the water with any part of his body!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it must be amusing to him! When you see that hes starting to do it give him something else to play with. That should keep him occupied until he wants attention again

I don't know why they do it, but my wire fox terrier does the same thing. She carries the bowl around with her after she dumps it, though.

yeah he's mad at you...
Could be he doesn't like the food
Could be the water is not cold
Could be litter box is dirty
Could be he wants more attention
Give him treats!
