I buy airline tickets on the internet. There are no shipping costs and there is usually a discount over getting the tickets in person.
I would not buy an item whose quality I can't tell without touching it. For instance clothing or tools - they might look good on the web pictures but be junky.

I'll usually buy smallish things, that I've been looking for and cant find or that I can get a really good deal on online (say ebay). I wont buy anything where the shipping makes the item cost more than I'd be willing to pay in a store (I mean if I have to wait a week or two to get it I'd better be saving money) - I wont buy clothes usually, or anything that costs over $50.

Things I can't find anywhere else! I got a few large play structures for my son-we don't have a toy store close and it was less to buy it and ship it than to hunt it down. I got my hubby's anniversary present on line-it was something specific but not common so no other options. I get things with my dog's breed on line (shirts and such). I had to order a replacement teddy bear on line for my son-the store the original came from didnt carry them any longer and it was clear that Rupurt needed a spare for emergencies so I went to the manufacturer and ordered. I have ordered designer handbags on clearance for a huge savings. HUGE. Lets see, the last thing I got was my car tags-renewed and changed plate design. Beats the line at the DMV! And next month-I will order Frontline Flea Drops!

I probably wouldnt buy a house on the internet. But other than that i think nowadays most websites have secure connections and fraud protection that give you peace of mind when buying items over the internet.
I deffinately wouldn't buy something on the internet that i could go to a store and get cheaper. Thats just stupid.

Norton Anti-Virus has spyware protection and a firewall included, Norton Internet Security has what Anti-Virus has, including added parental controls, ad-blockers, and spam protection among other things. I think it also has Confidence Online which protects you from phishing attacks, but IE7 has phishing protection by default. Norton Anti-Virus is pretty well all you need for basic Internet use.

Everything I can't easily get locally. I even bought a car on the internet once. Still driving it. I haven't bought real estate yet. That's kind of shady.

Books, cd's and dvd's, usually if you buy more than a certain amount the shipping is free.
