It depends on where you live and you will need to piggy back on your parent's insurance until you're 18 most likely.

I'm 21, clean driving history and pay 145$ a month living in south florida. I paid 75$ a month as a new policy holder with 2 years experience driving at 18 years old in Arkansas. Different areas have different levels of risk. Insurance is calculated based on risk.

I am 17 year old male, who drives a 1991 Toyota Camry, I pay $755 for 6 months for just collision. So that would come out to 125 a month.

As far as I know, you're supposed to be 18 years old before you can have your own insurance.

It may not be possible unless he or she is under the parents' policy.
