Sudden "shivering" in his sleep is most likely from dreaming.

A chill would wake him up and have him seeking someplace more warm to lie; and a convulsion would occur as often when he's awake as when he's asleep.

Dogs dream like everyone else. It also could be because it's still just a pup and probably when it was with it's mom when it shivered it's mom would comfort it.

At that age their temps can be very unstable. Sometimes, like human babies they can go into a very deep sleep. So deep in fact that their body temp actually lowers. That may be what starting the shivers.

To remain healthy, puppies must be kept at the proper ambient temperature. Young puppies cannot conserve body heat or shiver to create heat.

It's not that he's cold. He's probably dreaming. Like us animals are partially paralyzed when they sleep. Sometimes they will howl, bark, move their legs, moan or shiver.

Pet him, cover him up, etc but there isn't anything wrong w/ him.
