I've been dating this wonderful person for about 2 and a half months. everyone has been shocked that we have been going strong, because we are total opposites from each other, like 180 degrees. it was definently an opposites attract thing from the beginning. lately, i've been realizing that i dont want go out with her anymore, and its not because of anything she has done to me, just the fact that i believe its more of a physical attraction than anything. she is very quiet, and i have to basically force her to engage in a productive conversation with me. and now i'm starting to like this long time friend who i have a lot in common with, and can tell anything to. i think breakin up with my current gf is inevitable, but she is head over heels for me right now, and i'm afriad of hurting her, which will prolly happen no matter what. what i need is some sound advice on how to end this as smoothly as possible so i can continue a friendship with this girl. please, its driving me nuts.

OKay, so you both were infatuated and she still is and you are not. It is going to be really hard, but you have to tell her the truth adn make her understand how it is, so there are no lingering doubts\and or hope. Don;t waste her life or yours either.

Well, It sounds like you have started to change your mind and thats ok, it happens all the time, the relationship just wasn't meant to be. talk to her, sit her down some place quiet and tell her exactly how you feel. its when you start to hide things and skate around the truth that she will get hurt. tell her that you like her and that you care about her, but that you need more in the relationship and you need someone you can talk to. Make sure you tell her she hasn't done anything wrong, the two of you just aren't right for each other and tell her that you will always want to be her friend. in the end, she will be hurt, but thats natural, its better to tell her now that stay in a relationship that you don't see working out. the longer you wait, the more it will hurt both of you. just remember to be open and honest!

ouch sounds almost like a catch 22. i guess just talk to her about it, but don't mention anything about you having feelings about someone else. tell her how you feel about you being so different and you think that you'd be better off apart. she'll be hurt of course but if you don't think it will work out, you gotta do what you gotta do.

if you don't wanna be with her, then you have to tell her. its nice to think that you don't wanna hurt her feeling but thats inevitable. just do it. (otherwise Valentines day is next week and you will have to get her a present!!)
