They may be able to provide medications that would help ease some of the symptoms. If a person carefully watches their own diet, they can oftentimes get their IBS under control by themselves. If your IBS has caused ulcers,lesions or other membrame or tissue damage, the nurse will be able to assist with that as well. Keeping your emotions in check is also a valuable tool in controlling IBS,many people hold their stress/emotional problems/upset in their abdomenal area, learning how to control some issues is beneficial. I have crohns and i have a nurse i can phone to ask questions and ask advice when i don't feel like making an appointment to see the doctor. They are nice helpful nurses who make things a lot easier if you give them a chance.
They also look out for the change it makes to your life, not something the doctors are concerned with as much.

You sound upset?? Sure she can , she is a specially trained nurse to work in the GI feild. Her knowledge is probably just as good as the doctors. She can help you with information on your diet and meds. Have faith in her or him.
