For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
Romans 10:10
And now that you have found God (or should I say, now that God has found you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual powers of this world?
Galatians 4:9
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
Philipians 2:12
God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
Ephesians 2:8
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, for he wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
1st Timothy 2:3,4
It is God who saved us and chose us to live a holy life. He did this not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan long before the world began-to show his love and kindness to us through Christ Jesus.
2nd Timothy 1:9

John 3:15 tells us that "everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."
John 5:24 says, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my words and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."
In John 11:25 Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies."
John 23:46 says, "I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness."
John 20:31 says, "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."
Eph 2:8-10 God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this: It is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
It is the Holy Ghost that speaks to your heart moving through you to accept Jesus as your personal Savior, just as He as done for your family before you many years ago. Yet they did not respond back then either.
Acts 7:51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
I hope this was helpful to you.

Ezek 18:32 :For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the lord god: wherefore *turn yourselves*, and live ye.
Rev 3:20 :Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Acts 16:31 :And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house
this is one of those crazy christian catch 22's .... god, being omniscient, KNEW at the beginning of time who would choose what...and he made us and our minds...so he obviously had some hand in choosing who would choose what....but there is also a big stink about free choice-that we can say yes or no...but can we really? if we say yes, its because god made us to say yes...likewise with no.

"Does God choose us or do we choose him?"
Yes to both. My pastor explains it this way, "Picture yourself entering heaven. Above the gate is a sign that reads 'WHOSOEVER WILL'. As you enter, you turn around a see a sign above the other side of the gate that says 'CHOSEN FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD'. "
This is a topic that will be discussed through all ages until Christ returns. We don't know. The Bible isn't 100% clear on this. It is clear that all who call upon the Name of Christ WILL be saved.
Good question.

One does not choose God or otherwise, one just feels in his solar plexus that He is there or not. God does not choose us, anyway he would:have an ungrateful task as we are 6.5 billions of
us here and innumerably more in the beyond. It is not verses you need but self-conviction !

Just read Matthew 19:16- and you will find your answer. Most of the sayings from Christ indicate all have free will and that we ourselves must decide.
