It woke me up out of a dead sleep in the middle of the night, it was on the side of my kneecap and the pain was excruciating. I got up in the dark and brushed off something, went to the bathroom, looked at the wound and a squished black thing was stuck to it. Wasnt a wasp or hornet, but something else with a hard center, like a tick I thought. In retrospect it could have been a spider. Next morning the pain was still there and a small circular redness was around the bite. I went to the DR and was told if the redness spreads come back, if not it wasn't a tick and the pain was most likely that it bit on a nerve bundle. Well here I am 6 months later, the redness went away within 24 hours but the itch is incredible. There is now a small hard itchy bump there, like a crusty mosquito bite and it wont go away. Should I worry about this because the crusty bump is getting really firm and slightly larger. And the itch comes and goes with ferocity. Thanks for your thoughts.

It seems like every time I get bit by a tick, the itch stays around for much longer than the bite, but never that long. I would definitly go see your doctor again or you could just call the office and talk to a nurse (much cheaper) she may tell you to come on in. Good luck~

That's an awful long time for a tick bite to hang around. I should know: I've had my share of them.

Go back to the doctor. I suspect you got bit by a spider.

I would go to the Doctor's again just to be on the safe side. Good Luck!
