I've known my ex-boyfriends friend for a very long time and we've always been friends, he wanted a relationship with me before, but neither of us had the guts to take the next step.

Let me ask you this question. Do you still like your ex-boyfriend? If not then why do you feel like you don't have the guts to go out with his friend. I'm not trying to offend you but sooner or later, one of you are going to have to take the next step.

your ex bf dont own you but it is kinda wrong, if your ex is ok with it and still be friends then go for it, get the guy you like to ask for permission.. (i know how that sounds).. but you dont want to ruin a friendship

my personal rule is don't date friends or family of ex's or ex's of friends or family but you gotta do whats right for you if he could be the one and you don't try you spend your life wondering what if? you are the only one who can say if its worth the possible pain and conflict it could cause

Yes it is wrong. Why jeopardize his friendship with his friend. It's really not worth it. Find someone else.
