I really like this guy, he's all nice and caring and everything. He works for an oil company and so he carries that smell everywhere with him. And he's smoking too; I can't stand that smell either, esp when he wants to kiss me. He tries to chew gums, but it doesn't seem to help. I don't know how to tell him without hurting his feelings. What should I say? I don't want to say bye to him just because a thing like this.

be honest, tell him the smoking is a huge turnoff, and suggest he quit, as far as the oil smell, just tell him to shower and change clothes before you go out to together.

That's really disgusting, if he smells and drinks so much then why would you want to be with some one who has such bad personal hygiene?

have him change his diet to something less oily (so the body doesnt keep the smell in his body) and use Lava soap.
The cig problem though.. shrug..

Tell him that it's effecting your attraction to him, and making you not want to be intimate with him. That will probably make a difference.

& it is not an issue really of hurting his feelings, it is an issue of choices.
he needs to choose to stop smoking or stop kissing you.

you don't want to say goodbye to him but instead want to complain and waste away at energy over this??? common....... why complain about it at all.................. either accept him as he is or leave him and find someone who doesn't do things that constantly irritate you... why make yourself miserable with stupid things...
