Possibly, and possibly vice versa, too. Plain and simple, what Sarai did to Hagar was plain old horrible. If you think about what Hagar had to go through: forced sex with her boss and forced to give birth to a child she may not have wanted (she wasn't married, and she had no drugs to ease the excrutiating childbirth pain). Then, Sarai/Sarah became intensely jealous and treated her like garbage, then made Abraham kick her out into the desert with nobody to help her take care of her baby or herself. She was sobbing by some water when God helped her. I feel bad for her. But I digress. Sorry!!!! :o)

No I think jews and arabs just didnt get along too well from the start off.
So they invented lots of lore to make hagar look bad.
I have a suspicion jews even invented the: judaism comes from your mother thing when they realized that they had to call Hagars children bad.
They had to create a fundamental reason for it.
They chouldnt belittle Abraham and say his seed was flawed.
Everybody knows, your seed comes from your dad...and you take your dads surname...not your moms.
Go figure.
Matt A just proved my point. If all arabs are evil, then what about those who are christians and jews?? hmm??
Edit: Hagar was a slave to both Sarah and Abraham. And slaves back in the day, could be taken as concubines according to Gods law. The tradition of taking a slave as a concubine was a prevailent thing until the modern invention of prohibiting slaves. So Hagar was a lawful wife to Abraham, as it is, if she had born illegitimate son, that would make Abraham a rapist and a person who has no respect for the rights of a human. Im sure Hagars opinion was not asked, but Abraham treated her as family and took her in as second wife. He by the way had three ^^

No, first of all because Christians weren't around when this happened. The antipathy of some Jews and fundamentalist Christians is based upon the reaction of Muslims to Jews obtaining land in Palestine and creating the State of Israel. Sadly, for many, that whole situation has become a mutual hate-fest.
Realize that for centuries, Jews and Muslims have lived together peaceably. In Moorish Spain, Jews were allowed to live and practice their faith; it was only after the Christians took over in 1492 that Jews were driven from the area or forced to convert to Christianity . Jews did have to pay a special tax when they lived under Islamic rule, as did Christians; but they did not have to fight in wars, and were allowed to practice their respective faiths.
European Christians felt it was not right that Muslims were occupying Jerusalem and launched several Crusades to try and wrest power from them. I would say animosity and fear of Islam for Christians started then. I find it interesting that Crusaders sacked Jerusalem and slaughtered the people; when Suliman the Magnificent took over the city, he did not slaughter the Crusaders, but allowed them to be ransomed home or to stay.

Nonsense. If anybody holds a grudge that is 6000 years old, there is real deep-rooted racism, besides which over 95% of people have not even heard of this episode ! There is antipathy for Al Qaëda and for all the exalted little idiots who give Islam a bad name with threats of terrorism and wearing Islamic signs as political statements, rather than an act of faith. Please do nor wallow in self-pity.

No, the antipathy from Jews and Christians, if this alleged antipathy exists, comes from the frequent occurence of Muslims murdering Jews and Christians.
Or maybe this alleged antipathy toward Muslims is caused by the apparent antipathy FROM Muslims.

Hagar was not Abraham's wife making Ishmael illegitimate; how else would someone other than a Muslim look at it?
What the oxymoron is that Arab Muslims pride themselves on lineage and legitimacy so how can they justify an illegitimate child between Abraham and a woman who was not his wife? This ideology within itself proves the illegitimacy of Islam.

You will know a tree by it's fruit. A good tree produces good fruit. A bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can not produce bad fruit and a bad tree can not produce good fruit.
