For the past several month i have been having left chestpains usually near my shoulder area, although most of the time its sharp pain sometimes the area just feels weird, i really cant describe it. I never have problems with breathing or anything at all. Sometime the sharp pain starts when im inhailing. My left arm takes most of the radiating pain. The pain never stops me from doing any activities but its there alot. I really dont know what to do. Sometimes the pain is under my left nipple. The weird thing is I may have this pain for a month, but then after that for a couple of weeks i wont feel hardly any pain. then it starts again.

Have you seen a Dr.? If not you should do so immediately, not an appointment for 3 weeks from now. I don't know your age or general health but don't mess with chest pain. Here are some important things to know:
Tightness, squeezing radiating pain can be signs of a heart attack.
Intermittent chest/arm pain often precede a heart attack.
Heart attacks may have few or very vague symptoms.
Angina (a predecessor to heart attack) is usually brought on by activity or stress and goes away with rest.
There are other serious problems that could cause this type of pain also. Pain is the body's way of telling us there is a problem don't ignore it!!
Heart disease is a # 1 killer of men and women in America, see the American Heart Association web site for more facts.

Muscles they are too tight because of knots in the fibers called trigger points. They need help to get them to relax. A massage therapist would be a good place to start. So that you can learn how to help yourself read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.

Usually indigestion causes worsening sharp pain on inhaling but it doesnt radiate down the arm- You need to see your Doctor and arrange for an ECG, and depending on your medical history- a more definative exercise ECG test to be sure.

heart pains are usually more cramp like, feels like an elephant is standing on your chest! Better to be told its indigestion than ignore it and have 'I told you i was ill' on your gravestone!!

prob. just a pulled muscle or something random a little out of whack, but get yourself checked out just in case. sharp pains around the heart are never fun to just worry about.

See a doctor soon, Alex. It could be a lot of things, but you want to rule out angina due to narrow coronary arteries.

You really need to see a doctor to rule out heart problems.

On the other hand, if you wait, you'll find out for sure if it's your heart or not.

Get to a doctor ASAP! Those are classic symptoms of cardiac arrest/troubles. Don't think just because you're 19 it can't happen to you. It can happen to ANYone. Please get checked out soon!
