Army wife here. While I love my husband more than ANYTHING, I want the job done. I have been through 2 deployments with him, and getting ready for the third. I miss him, the children miss him, but with the army benefits come sacrifice. My husband sacrifices for us, and for his country. We sacrifice our time with him. But he doesnt see it as much a sacrifice....it is his job and he loves the army and doing his job.

Bottom line, no I dont want them coming home "soon" because the job will not be DONE "soon." They can come home when they are finished and not a second before. And any wife that cant handle multiple deployments, should convince husband to get out of the military, or divorce him.

I'm all for the troops coming home - as soon as the job is finished and the government and military over there can take on the task of keeping Iraq together.

It makes no sense to pull the troops out before that point - and you can't hurry the rebuilding of a government and infrastructure. These things just don't happen overnight. If we don't let things get finished, we will be back in Iraq within the next 10 years.

No, it would just mean we would have to send them back in a decade to take on a likely coalition of Syria/Iraq/Iran after they have had a decade to harden their defenses.
We broke Iraq, we are obligated in our own self interest to try and fix it, at least patch it, so we don't have to go back.
We should have never invaded the god forsaken country to begin with but now we are committed.
Besides that running away simply emboldens our enemies, yes we do have enemies, as it did in Beirut in the 80's, somalia in the 90's and Nam in the 70's.

I'm all for them coming home.... when we have done all we can do to help get a stable gov't in place. I do NOT want us to have to go back a few years from now because we left too soon.

When we go, if Iraqi chooses to have a civil war, then let them go at it. But don't make the reason they have a civil war is because the US abandoned them too soon with no real military in place.

Well I am home. I just got back from Iraq from the 4th tour. God I hope so soon, because my black missions won't be so hard. I would wish them all to come back by now

Who wouldn't want them to come home soon? However, they will get home when the job is done, or when they are told they can leave. Worrying about it isn't going to make it happen any faster.

I'd love for them to come home as soon as possible, but we have to finish the job over there!

I'm all for bringing our troops home. But not until we finish our mission and justify the the ones who have lost their lives for this mission.
