I'd like to send "care" packages to our troops. What are the addresses for each branch of service to get the stuff overseas?
Also- any websites with guidelines / no-no's.
If you know a member or family who would benefit from care packages and / or specific prayer- I'm on it! I have to be creative because I have NO money- postage is going to push it... E-me.
Thank you U.S. Vetrans! I love you! God bless you and yours.

JacknJamie- you are absolutely correct. Perhaps it's the integrity of my heart that is filling my inbox. In no way is there deception in my querry. I have collected magazines, newsclippings, US travel brochures; I pick stuff up at the dollar store- like wet wipes a few at a time...
I may not be able to feed the babies of the troops left at home, but I can and do pray they have all their needs met. I have no desire to be intrusive or noble.

The best thing to do would be to go to www.anysoldier.com and request an address. It is typically not an individual soldier, but a platoon representative. Some request individual items that they cant get over there and dont have family and friends to send it to them (socks, underarmour, etc). I would find someone who just wants something from home....homebaked cookies, toys, etc. It is just fine to be creative, but please commit to it. Dont just do it because you feel warm and fuzzy 1 day and dont follow through. Send thank you letters, care packages as often as you can. You dont have to spend alot of money, as things from the dollar store are just fine. I have even sent my husband cute little things out of the quarter machines. But it DOES cost money for the items and it DOES cost money for postage. I would encourage you and friends to chip in the buy items for the package so that you dont have to spend much. But if you are going to do it, do it right. Dont shortchange the soldiers.

www.campdoha.org

The site has a section just for supporters where you can "adopt" a unit or individual, and the family members section has listings of what you can and cannot send, how to best package items, and how to ship them.

Shipping is not that horrible, by the way. You can get free boxes from the post office if you tell them it's for stuff being mailed to an APO/FPO address, and shipping cost is the same as mailing an item within the United States - Priority Mail is your cheapest option at $3.95 for a large box.

Well as noble as that is I dont see anybody posting their loved ones addy for some yahoo answers stranger.....thats a NO-NO. Care packages cost money, to fill and to send......The only way to get a unit addy overseas is for someone involved to give it to you.My husband is in Iraq and thats why I know it aint gonna happen.
