I'm planning an investigation of a site that is said to have malice spirits haunting it. As well as some sites that have benevelent spirits. Being me, I want to be prepared for whatever may happen. I know of a few people who do or have someone cast a protection spell or protection prayer over them, then I know of some that just use the lord's prayer. Are there any experienced Ghost Hunters or Wiccan's that can give me advice on this subject?

Not a website! A property, house, business, ect! Do you honestly think I would need protection from a freaking website!

I'm a member of G.H.O.S.T. in Delaware (myspace.com/ghost_de) and when going on an investigation, I like a very simple visulaztion to keep me going.

See yourself wrapped in a mirrored bubble. (mirror facing out)

To yourself, repeat, "Thrice around the circle's bound. Evil Sink into the ground."

See your INSIDE bubble a bright purple. (the color of Deity)

KNOW that you are safe.

Well I'm neither a ghost hunter or a Wiccan; however I do pray to Thor for protection and strength when I'm going into a dangerous situation, (but then again I am also packing my .45 too.) The key element in most protection spells is visualization, probably visualizing a protective blue aura around yourself. You can also make a protective amulet to carry with you, myself I'd use a bind rune. But there are plenty of other symbols you can use if you aren't familiar with runes.

Well, I would not advise a spell, personally. Though any prayer you personally believe in will help you - to the extent that you will it to.

A pure mind and body are the best protection you could find. So make sure that starting a week before you go you totally stop doing things like bashing people behind their backs and so forth: pure thought, pure words, pure deeds. Positively - do good to people, think the best you can of people etc.

[and people, the word 'site' does NOT only refer to WEBsites. A site is any place. A website is a place online]

As long as you can draw positive energy to carry with you it doesn't matter if it's through prayer, ritual or whatever. It has to work for you.
With that energy, I would do a smudging of the area with white sage (basically you burn the sage and fan it around with a feather) and bless the area. Call on the benevolent spirits to cast the dark spirits out. It's all about your personal energy though. So if something is meaningful to you, include it in your ritual.

If I remember the correctly wearing garlic around your neck takes care of werewolves and a crucifix will repel vampires. Use the Avada Kedavra curse to kill any bad guys or just kick back and enjoy a Harry Potter movie.

You can make fun of me if you want to, but this is my answer: My Granny used to tell us "If you mess with spirits, spirits will mess with you". The best thing to do is keep your butt away from there. Why would you want to fool around with something like that? Are you crazy?

Any spirit you encounter there will be evil. There is only One Holy Spirit and I know He doesn't keep a website haunted. Don't be disobedient to God--stay away from such things. If you do, you are only inviting evil into your life. Such things are an abomination to God. I used to be into the occult and learned the hard way what can happen. It's just a good thing God is merciful, but don't do it deliberately. You've been warned. What you do with the warning is your choice.

The Bible warns us not to seek out evil, but instead to seek the Lord who has already won this battle that you are eager to now enter.

It would appear our views on this matter are not similar, but in good conscience, I have to suggest that you keep your distance and offer the place in question up in prayer and let the Lord deal with it instead. He is God, after all. He could speak something into or out of existence with one word said or unsaid.

God bless you.
