our lab/ridgeback mix has had ear mites for a long time and our vet kept him on antibiotics for several weeks as well as gave us meds for drying out his ears. the mites rehatch out a quick pace so you have to stay on it until the anitbiotics kick in. the one thing we experienced was a secondary infection due to his scratching and had to have a second type of antobiotics to clear that up. so stay patient and consult your vet. youll thank him and so will your dog. it took about 6 wks to clear our Dorf up,but it was worth it.

Ear Mites can only be seen microscopically, so if your dog has not been diagnosed by his/her Vet for Ear Mites then I strongly recommend that a Vet visit is in order. Good Luck.

Did a vet diagnose your puppy with ear mites? Usually puppies do not have ear mites. If your vet diagnosed your puppy then they should have sent you home with some medication. If YOU diagnosed your dog with ear mites then you really should take the dog to the vet for a proper diagnosis

You should get the dog to the vet ASAP. Get some medication to keep on hand (they do sell some stuff in the pet store, but I'm guessing you can get something better off of PetMeds.com, and check your dog's ears regularly. Hopefully you caught it before there was a heavy infestation.

Make a thick paste of corn meal and lukewarm water. After you have mixed the paste very well, smear it on the inside of the dog's ears. Not too deep though.

Corn meal has natural antifungal properties and will take care of this quickly.

You might look into the product call "Missing Link". It is a pet food additive that will help with the immune system as well as other things.

Um, do we look like vets who can prescribe meds for your dog. Take him strait to the vet and get the medication and do not allow him to be around other dogs until it is gone because he can give it to others.
