i went through the same problem with my daughter,oh what a treat it was to have her take it a couple of times through out the day.they started her on liquid and she would gag, then they tried her on giving her the pill, well she again would gag it was too big any way i thought,so i phoned her doctor once again they put her back on the liquid but different taste,no go.lol i had to take her back and get a different med, this time they gave her tiny pills and whola she now takes it.
maybe you should try doing the same thing, she can put it in her food and not even taste it.
i know excatley what you are going through.
tell the doctor whats happening their are solutions they have.

You're the Mom. Don't give him a choice. He needs the medicine to be well. Don't try to be sneaky about it, just tell him that he needs to take the medicine before any other activities can continue. It will be a battle of wills for a few times, but it's a battle you MUST win. Then you will no longer have to battle any more. When he does take the medicine, shower him with praise for doing what is good for him, and let the normal activities continue.

I always give my kids their medicine with a syringe. Ask your pharmacist for one. They have a supply and should just give it to you.
This makes the medicine more fun to take and won’t spill of a tea-spoon etc. as you’re fighting with him to take it. Or you can have him give it to himself then he has more control.
Or have someone else give it to him. Anyone. A sympathetic neighbour or something. My son takes his medicine better from other people for some reason.

Put it in his food- tie it to a fun privilege or thing
like ice cream or a new toy or activity. that way h e begins to associate the bad medicine with good things so that he slowly comes around
i hope this helps

try mixing it up with his favorite desert or something. or use my 'secret'< not secret anymore..recipee;
1 pack of chocolate cookies of his fav kind
1 container of icing of anykind, sugared of course
directions:
Step 1 mix the icing up with the doctor's suggested dose of medecation. if the medecine has a strong and nasty taste add 1-2 teaspoons of sugar to the 'mix'
Step 2 stir/mix well
Step 2 smooth the icing on how many cookies you think its best for him to eat(one giant one for example) then serve with milk
Good Luck!

There is a new flavoring some pharmacies have now to add to childrens medicine. I know that CVS has it, not sure about walgreens.

No TV/treats/stories/fun until he takes it. Just make sure he gives in before you do.
