I hate working out and I hate the gym. But I am fat, I gained 100lbs in 6 years and I don't want to keep tipping the scale. I weigh 220, I am 5'7 and 23f. I am growing to hate myself, and am not sure how my husband is still with me.

We have a gym in our apt complex, but the prob is I keep making excuses not to go (I'll go tomorrow, I have an itch, blinking is an exercise...etc.) I really need to go so I have some confidence in myself.

I have a wonderful husband and I feel if he can love me so much like this, the least I can do is try to be hotter for him.

Please what is your motivation? I can't afford a gym membership or a trainer to push me (and my husband SUCKS at it lol)

Thank you

A couple of years ago, I weighed about 40 pounds more and finally decided I was ready to do something about it. So I changed my eating habits (with some help with a Weight Watchers plan I borrowed from a friend, I didn't actually join), and made myself get into the habit of going to the gym right after work most days as there was a free gym onsite to use. Once I started to see changes, that was my motivation to keep the good habits up. I also felt better, physically & mentally, and didn't want that to stop. So 2 years later I have kept the weight off and am still maintaining the good habits. The key is to make positive changes into long term habits, remember to begin with they can be smaller changes, over time the changes get larger without you noticing so it isn't overwhelming right off the bat.

My motivation is looking at my soon-to-be-ex-sister-in-law. She's very heavy, extremely unhealthy, smokes, eats the worst diet on earth, had to have major body parts removed due to her bad health, brags about having a cholesterol level of 450, and represents everything I fear.

No, I'm kind of kidding. My motivation came when I saw a doctor for another problem, and part of the solution was a total change in diet. I also hate the gym, so I walk, and use an elliptical at home.

Princess P, if you husband cheats on you right now would u blame yourself? If he called you fat in an argument would u be crushed? Do not look at yourself thru his eyes, lookn at yourself thru your own eyes. Go stand in front of a mirror and look at all the things you want to change about yourself. Go buy an ipod and put on every song that makes u want to dance, or makes you angry...go for walks, then get on a treadmill and get angry...let each song take you whereever you need to go to keep moving,...i ran 7 miles one day lol one situation and my ipod are my best friend. Just do this for yourself, make yourself proud

My motivation is enjoying and appreciating life. I have to be healthy and happy w/ my self in order to live a happy life. Life is very precious, you don't want to spend your life just worrying about how to lose wait. It is hard, but if your motivation is inner happiness, it should be easy. This might not be true for other people, but you ask for our motivation, and this is my motivations. Please don't ever think that you hate yourself, no one else can make you happy, but yourself. You are in charge here, you get what you give in life. So, in order for you to start being motivated in losing weight, ask yourself this: Am I ready to love and take care of myself. Do it for yourself, not to look "hot" for anyone else. Once, you start seing your own beauty, you might also start appreciating other things. Life on earth is short, enjoy it, you don't wanna miss out anything.
