I would absolutely feel guilty! I'd apologize a million times and pamper her for the next day or two! But that's just me.

You're lucky it wasn't a gun! I hope you both learned a lesson here.
My Lab-Chow and I were wrestling on the floor when she grabbed the back of my neck in her mouth like I was a puppy. I yelled "Ow!" and she ran over and sat in the corner, then went and climbed into her bed and stayed there all day out of guilt. I had to go tell her it was OK. It happens to the most loving, well-intentioned people (and creatures) sometimes. Just don't let it happen again.

Of course you do! Its natural to feel guilty when you hurt those you love, especially children that you are supposed to be protecting. But if it was a mistake and she isnt seriously hurt, you have to let go.
Hey, I think I can top that. I hit my 3 year old cousin in the head with a croquet ball by accident. I could have killed her. But she was ok and Ive gotten past it.

It begs the question, why were you even aiming a giant rubber band in the direction of her face? So yes, you should feel guilty.

Well I am sure that you feel bad, but I don't think it will be something that she is going to be terribly mad at you about for the rest of her life or anything. Just be more careful next time, and be glad that you didn't hurt her.

"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye!"
Just kidding. Don't beat yourself up over it - it was an accident. Just apologize to your daughter, learn from it, and move on.

I would feel guilty if I had aimed it at her face, but if it wasn't then you were both playing and it was an accident!
