my best thing when i was losing weight was to keep chocolate to the end of the day as a reward
i found it helpful to not even allow a small taste the rest of the time because i have no idea of when to stop with chocolate - even keeping the treat for several days will be better

low calorie chocolate drinks are good as well - all the satisfaction without the guilt
good luck

Chocolate has got to be one of THE most fattening sweets made! That's why it's sooo good! I totally understand your addiction, I love the stuff too. I had chocolate on Valentines day, and for 3 days after-wards! The key is to know when to just stop. I'm a fitness trainer/group instructor and I love the stuff, but I have to put a limit on it, because I'll gain way too much weight with it. Start some kind of a exercise program. whether it's walking, going to a athletic club, or using dvds at home, just start some kind of exercise and you'll see how much better you feel. The chocolate takes you up and then comes crashing back down again, but the exercise will be excellent for you. I started exercising years ago when I needed to give up cigs and bad foods, and the rest is history, you can do it too! Let me know if I can help you in some way.

Eat a few semi-sweet chocolate chips SLOWLY. Your brain will process it the same as if you chowed down a whole candy bar, and the rich chocolate flavor should satisfy your craving. Make it a point to NOT each chocolate on an empty stomach-make sure you have eaten something first. Otherwise, you will just want to keep eating chocolate because you're hungry.

i know what you're talking about , you have to want to lose weight more than eat a lot of chocolate or any other thing you crave.
try low calorie chocolate drinks, or chocolate flavored protein bars, or eat a small piece of chocolate with coffee or tea, dark chocolate is the best chocolate to have , least amount of calories and most amount of antioxidants.
eating more complex carbohydrates keeps your blood glucose stable and you will feel more full and you won't be as tempted to eat chocolate, so go for more fruits and vegetables and less simple carbs like white sugar and white bread

Tell me about it. I try not to take any money to work with me (well just enough for what I really need), so i can't buy chocolate. Also a low calorie hot chocolate drink usually takes the edge of the urge. There are some really nice hot chocolate flavour drinks ie 'options'

Good luck, don't give into temptation.

Sugar free is NOT calorie free. There is still saturated fat in sugar free chocolate. As a diabetic and chocolate addict, I've had to learn that.

My advice is to get a small piece of chocolate and savor the heck out of it. Eat it slowly and be sure to take in all of its aroma (that can be as satisfying as actually eating it---trust me!)

Dark Chocolate is probably a better way to go. Not as fatening and if you want get some sugar free chocolate.

Been there.
There are ways to eat chocolate without gaining weight. Stop the candy bars and try Atkins bars. They satisfy your urge for sweets without adding the sugar.
The bars with alot of sugar alcohol will give you gas or diarrhea if you eat too much of them, so it's easier to stop eating them.
Try to remember to eat to nourish your body, not for pleasure.
And start an exercise program that you can stick with.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Totally understand, love chocolate!!
Try the really dark stuff, 70% or more, as you don't need to eat much of it.

Don't deny yourself, because as soon as you do that's when you want it more, but don't gorge yourself either ...the way I cope is to have a milky way when the craving kicks in...and it usually does the trick, if you really want to loose weight then you'll stick to it, it really is just a matter of will power. Best of luck.
