LISA,
IT'S TOO BAD THAT YOUR STEPFATHER HAS LIVER TROUBLE. I RECOMMEND THAT HE EAT A PRIMARILY VEGETARIAN DIET AND AVOID CHOLESTEROL CONTAINING FOODS LIKE MEATS, EGGS, CHEESE, ETC. A VEGETARIAN DIET, WHICH INCLUDES LEGUMES AND NUTS WILL PROVIDE HIM WITH ALL THE NECESSARY PROTEIN HE DOES NEED WITHOUT THE CHOLESTEROL HIS LIVER DOESN'T. GOOD LUCK.
PS.remember all the cultures around the world that have primarily vegetarian diets.

no protein, yikes!! fruits, vegetables, breads (pastas, etc)...try looking on vegetarian websites cuz a lot of vegetarians don't eat meat or dairy which is the 2 major types that have protein

fruits...most green and yellow vegetables....even potatoes. Check with a dietitian in the area for an assessment and a good diet plan.
