How do i connect with a God?

How do you connect with a God?
i have read in a wicca book that Gods contact pagans, and that Pagans can "talk" with Gods, i would like to know "how" to do this.

let me tell you something. it's going to be easier if you just grab your laptop and cruise around town trying to find a wireless network to connect to.

I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but, well, you talk to them. Pray, if you find that a more convenient word. Sometimes, it's in the context of a specific ritual, sometimes, it's little more than spontaneous stream-of-consciousness talking.

Whether or not you get a response? ::shrugs:: Well, that's not always guaranteed. If you do get a response, sometimes it's some sort of sign or omen, sometimes it's a particular sensation, some folks even get a flash of what seems like interaction. It's not like you simply invite a deity over for tea and cookies. (Well, okay, you can offer, but don't expect too many RSVPs.)

Note, however, some gods do have specific requirements on how they can be contacted. Just as you might not like being called by a telemarketer during dinner, some gods are particular about how people get in touch with them.

Well it really depends on which God or Goddess you want to talk to. I'd suggest doing more research into the mythology of the pantheon that seems most attractive to you, find out what the Gods like and what might be their requirements. Set up an altar and give them an offering, mediate, pray, etc.. All these things work.

Depends on your religion, and which god you want to talk to.
Over time people develop voices in their heads, as it says in the bible... though in those days it was visions and voices of God, not skitzophrenia... being alone in the desert, dehydration, starvation and extreme heat can trigger these things.
Now the other view.
Connection is known as Invocation, where they call as much of the Gods force as they can within themselves.
Communication is usually through ritual, and even then its usually via messengers not gods themselves.
Wicca... Talking to Gods? seems a bit advanced for Wicca. What book are you referencing? its probably just some spaced out fluffy tofu eating crystal hugging mental case new age selective wiccan.
(No offense to tofu eating, but these new age hippie ones, seem to steal vegetarians ideas too... no offense to hippies either, they steal your smoking weed and tree hugging.)

God is with you right now, in side you. Humans have a Body, a Mind, and a Spirit...
The Body always want something to eat, something to keep the Mind active, the mind knows what is right but lacks the ability to have constant control of it self. were the spirit is always in control of its self and knows nothing outside of its self, it has all the power in the Universe ready to freely give it to who ever asks for it, it is infinite, it is call God, Ala ha Divine Being, The Holy Spirit The I am that I am of this world. To contact God sit in a quiet room and do what most humans do Pray to the God in you with your mind, not your body, in so doing God will answer you by making everything you ask for to happen. depending on what you ask for it takes time. Our time is different from God's time, God being infinite, time takes a longer period of our time to happen, just believe it will happen.

GOD: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

IMM: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading.

GOD: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

IMM: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction.

GOD: Success is relative, quantified by others. Satisfaction is absolute, quantified by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead.

IMM: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here? I don't know the answers.

GOD: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
