think about it, when using the word, how does it not imply a 'high horse' or moral high ground based on justified elitism and hate?

Just because you or some people don't believe in a God does not mean you don't get the point. Most people as you know believe in a God of some sort. Referring to one's God does not reflect or incinuate one's status or intend to demean you or others in any way. But when someone uses the name God, you sure do still get the point they are trying to make now don't you. That's why. It has nothing to do with what you just referred to.

I know there are some but it is really not what they are supposed to be doing. Christians are charged to guide others through a living example. Like the old song says. "So they can see the good that we do and give glory to God". Good works not preaching is the way we are supposed to spread the faith.

Anyone who claims to be better than anyone else can't blame their religion for thier inflated ego.

If I'm driving in traffic and there's a 100ft drop in the road ahead and I pay attention to the signs and take the detour it doesn't make me better than the people who didn't. It just puts me at an advantage.

Maybe they are teaching from the bible what God says and don't want you to think it is just their idea. This is what the bible teaches. Don't think that gives them a moral high ground just
wanting to share with you what they have learned from the bible.

I've been a Christian for almost 20 years.....

I've never claimed to be better than non Christians. In fact Christ compells us to do exactly the opposite.

Do you have a question that is actually based in fact?

I never said I was better than anyone else. I happen to believe in God, and other people don't. That's all there is to it.
But I have been called stupid countless times by nonbelievers.

I think you are a wee bit oversensitive to this word. If you do not have faith in the word it should not affect you.

I cannot recall doing that. I do not see why it should make a difference to you anyway.
