I'm feeling a bit low at the moment at the thought of being alone on Valentine's Day. It'll be the first time in ages. Is anyone else in the same situation and feeling down? If so what are you doing to cheer yourself up?

You do not have to be in a relationship to be happy.Just think of the money you will save without having to buy cards and presents.Just remember it is only another day.It is just a normal working Tuesday,so don't get too despondent.

I understand why it can be hard, especially if it is the 1st for a while, however it doesn't need to be, it can be any other day, if you ask me valentines day is just a celebration of love which does not mean a day of couples. It could be the love of a friend or a family member, so how about going out with your mates and show everyone you don't need a bf or gf to have fun on Valentines day!!

Though Valentine's Day is advertised to be a "couples" day, it is supposed to be about a day of love. You can celebrate the love you have for your parents or a special friend. You can make someone else's Valentine's Day special (which will really make you feel good) like go to the hospital and deliver some Valentine's Day cards or to the local nursing home. You could take cupcakes to the local nursing home. You could volunteer your Valentine's night at the animal shelter walking and grooming and caring for animals who are unwanted and unloved, showing them some of the love and care you have in you. Donating your love and time to someone else will most likely make you feel great. (and who knows you may meet someone special while you are at it). Good luck and God Bless. Also look at this time as a time to love yourself. If you don't want to do for others, take this time to pamper yourself. Go to a spa for a massage and then out to a really special dinner that you love (steak, pasta, whatever).

As a single- I hated VD! as i called it.
I did however use it as a chance to get "laid" once a year. Since most singles events will take anyone and often their was new meat there. Sound like a guy huh?

I often got a great hotel room (worked in the industry-Four Seasons) and if I had a date used it or gave it to a lucky couple that deserved a night out and I stayed home and watched their kids.

I'm not a romantic type- I'm an action person. My hubby is a lucky man.

I am not usually the type of person that gets down about it, but I just got "let go" (ha) and so it really stings this year. Normally when I am single at this time, I find some other single friends and plan a fun activity...fondue night, drinking games, soccer...whatever we are in the mood for that year. We usually have a blast and survive that way. This year...I dont think there is anything to pick me up. So I am just going to try and suck it up and get through the best I can.

Oh. Sorry. For once i'm no longer unmarried this Valentines day. yet for sure that is superb to be unmarried! Valentines day is only an excuse extremely for the economy to tear off everyone and the day should not be the clarification human beings could convey their thoughts. human beings could do this any day of the year!! Wishing you each and every and each and every of the perfect for 2010.

i think most single people feel the same so remember its not just you. treat yourself 2 something nice like a take away r maybe if u have a friend that is also single you could both go to the pub. i wont be celebrating valentines this year. just stayin in so just remember there is probably thousands of other people that are in the same position. hope your day turns out ok xx

1)Book yourself into a posh restaurant now and turn up on te evening with your inflatable date.

Make a big show of talking to it and making the replies in a falsetto voice. Seduce it and start humping it. If you still haven't got kicked out, have a domestic with itafter you've shot your load across the restaurant.

2) Get some dodgy Muslim propoganda stuff off the net and then use it to make bomb threats at every cinema and thetre in town after being ejected from the restaurant.

3) Hang around outsid pubs and clubs flogging single red roses at closing time. Charge as much as you think the person is willing to pay based on the level of inebriation of that individual.

Cheers me up - and I'm not single.

hey, you won't be alone.

you'll be with all of the rest of us that are single...

This is my theory on it::::::
♥ i think everyone single is a bit :(, but then you can think of all the really cool things you could do with the 14th of February that having a partner meant you couldn't.

♥ for instance, you could sit and slobber all day and not get moaned at that you should be cooking a romantic meal. or you could randomly go swimming in the freezing cold, purely cos there is no one stopping you.

anyway, i'm probs talking a load of jibberish but i hope that you have a wonderful valentines day and that you don't feel down,

FreakGirl, x

I've been single for every valentines day forever now, so I figure, who cares? play some video games with your other single friends and talk about how you'd be down if you were in a relationship anyway.
