Do you ever watch the show "the dog whisper"? He would say you have to prove your dominance as being pack leader. You should watch the show, you would get great tips.

Maybe a Jack Russell isnt the dog for you. I have two of them and they are ALOT of work. Almost like kids. Both of mine came from abused homes. and one of them is completley deaf. They take alot of training (like any other dog) to be just how you like them. My dad has four Jack Russells, and one of them is a male and one of mine is a male and they can fight sometimes to the point that it scares you. They have finally learned to get along real good. Jack Russells are not a dog for everyone. They think they are big dogs and will walk up to a Great Dane and want to fight. I know you said training is not an option but that would be the best thing. Otherwise maybe you can find a Jack Russell Rescue to help find it a good home. You sound like you are getting too frustrated, and then you could cause harm to your dog. Also if you want to stop barking, when your dog barks take a little bit of lime juice and put it in the corner of it's mouth. They hate sour stuff. I learned this from my training class.

Why aren't training classes an option? They would probably work the best. They don't just train the dog; they also train you to be able to train the dog yourself. If you still don't want to use a trainer I suggest a shock collar. I know it sounds mean, but they really work. You can adjust the settings so it's not real strong at first, and if she doesn't stop you make it stronger. My aunt and uncle have trained both their dogs with shock collars, and they are very well behaved dogs. Also, bring lots of treats with you, so when the dog listens to you, she gets a treat and lots of praise. It takes lots of time so be patient. If you don't want to spend money on a shock collar, just use treats and praise when she does something good.

Obedience classes are the only option Its clear that you have a UN-rule dog, The jack Russel is a very high strung dog if you don't want to get the animal straightened out you will just have live with it like people here are stuck with spelling like yours.

Try Noise

Carry a plastic bottle with some stones in it
When she starts shake the bottle to scare and distract her.
It may take a week or two.

Take some of her favorite treat with you, if she does not go for the other dogs or she is getting better Reward her.

Good Luck

Halti or Gentle Leader... seriously it will help her stop pulling and it also seems to calm them around other dogs, you can even use it as a disciplinary tool, so when she acts aggressive put the Halti on to calm her down. Seriously I have been around alot of dogs in my life and lived with 14 + dogs, Halti/Gentle leaders work wonders to correct pulling behaviour and to calm down hyper hard to control dogs. Go here to learn about Halti/Gentle leaders and how to use them and train your dog with them....

Use a training choke collar, and when she "thinks" about barking or even looking at another dog, give it a good quick jerk, and continue walking, be consistent, and fair. I believe that will work.

Get rid of it, it'll cause you trouble if you don't. Some dogs are beyond help.
