Please don't think i'm a mormon I've just was been curious about this. Anyhow, when I was in high school there was this guy and whenever I asked him about school dances he would say that it was against his religion to go to any of them. He is pentecostal so, is this true or is he just a liar?!?!...I was also wondering about the whole dating thing with the Pentecostals I mean do you date?

No, I don't think he is lying. I went to a really strict baptist school and we weren't allowed to dance at proms or homecoming "dances". It's because the Bible says something to the extent that it is good for a man not to touch a woman (before marriage). It really sucked not to be able to dance at prom. But, anyway, I once knew a girl who was Apostolic Pentecostal (probably a little different from a pentecostal though) and she was allowed to date... mind you dating here is define as simply hanging out... at most she believed it was alright to kiss, but I think she thought it was alright to dance too. You should ask him what he believes. Get to know him better. Ask him why he believes what he believes and then you will know how to handle this situation better. Religion is a major thing to some people( I would know as I am a Christian) and you should respect their beliefs no matter what religion they are. I hope this has helped. Good luck.

You know how some Baptists (for example) are stricter than others? You can go to a Methodist church one side of town & one on the other side of town & they'll be completely different? The same can be said of Pentecostals. I was raised (and am) Pentecostal. I attended the prom, went on dates, to the movies, etc. I don't have extra long hair & in the summer you'll find me in shorts. It just depends upon the person's convictions.
