Last night it was terrible while I was walking up a flight of stairs. I was short of breath, too. I have lupus and I never know what is really a problem and what is just lupus.

Yes, Lupus can affect any organ in your system, including your Lungs etc.

You should see your rheumotologist (not sure if spelled correctly)as soon as possible. It may not even be the Lupus but its better to know anyway.

I would definitely get it checked, the shortness of breath and chest pains are something to talk to your doctor about, it could be your lupus but ask the doctor just so you can put your mind at ease. I know lupus can be aggravated by stress and worrying as well. Take Care

I have a relative who has lupus, and severe chest pains and shortness of breath are common conditions with lupus sufferers. These are often temporary, and will pass. If they persist for more than ten days, you should see your doctor.

Peace, and God Bless.

chest pain and shortness of breath during exertion is a red flag that something serious is going on. Could be cardiac disease. Get yourself to the doc.

best bet is to see a doc, if it happens on a regular basis while you are physically exerting yourself than it might be (no offence intended) you might be out of shape. or you might have cardiac trouble, or pulmonary trouble, i couldnt honestly tell without more info. sorry.
