That if God controlled the Council of Nicea and told them what to put in the bible, then they didn't have freewill at that point?

If God takes away freewill sometimes, why didn't he do so during the Holocaust for example? (People explain such evils as God letting people exercise their freewill.)

I used to be a Christian. These are the types of questions no one could answer, so I left.

The men in the council physically put the cannon together. If God interfered with that they did not have freewill at that point.

The arguments I've heard are not that people were told to put a certain book in or take it out. That still allows for freewill. What I've heard is that God made SURE the word was perfect. That would require lack of freewill.

Wow, a lot of people just don't seem to get the argument.

All those things have nothing to do with G-D. He gave use communities and the ability to make war, affect politics, OBEY HIS LAWS, those had nothing to do with the divine except we failed ourselves.

I believe that God is not at fault of "such evils". If nothing bad or evil ever happened, then we would already be in Heaven, wouldn't we? Choices are made by freewill, but freewill doesn't always mean nothing bad is going to happen...especially because most people don't use their freewill to love God and do what he wants us to do in the first place. Anything he wants us to do is in the best interest of us in the first place because of His love for us.

God did not control the Council of Nicea. But i believe he would only allow his books that were really worth something to be put in there, otherwise it would nto be our fault for not knwoing things.

The Holocaust is a big issue ppl bring up here. Has anyone ever thought that if God is so powerful and amazing that he could have a reason behind all of this pain that we do not even know about or could explain? Not everything has to make sense to us!

Blessings

God never takes away free will. Those who were at the council were led by the Holy Spirit when they discerned which books to include in the bible because they AGREED to be led by the Spirit. It was a decision THEY made when they became Christian. They were not forced.

The holocaust is a huge example of the misuse of free will, which resulted in one of the most horrible tragedies in human history.

There is a difference between Forcing and Guiding. That is a distinction you may be missing. At the council of Nicea he helped to guide the attnedees in their choices because they were listening and hoping for his assistance. God never takes away free will, Hitler, the Holocaust, the Darfur and many other examples prove that.

First off at the council of nicea they spent time praying and fasting to find the will of God. So they in fact set there free will on finding God's will. Secondly show me on instance where God took away somebody's free will. Never happened.

And so you will plunder the Egyptians."

God didn't control the council of Nicaea. That is why the Bible is incomplete and is missing a bunch of stuff that could or should be in there.

By and large what they chose was good. Just not complete.

God had a plan for everyone I guess.

I cant question God like that.

What He does is His business.

But I do know that it must have been fated for people to play around with the verses in Bible back in Nicea.

Taking out what they wanted and leaving what they needed.

I cant question fate. Im a simple human who has no power to even take in the CO2 that she exhales every minute.
