While I agree with most of C-live's comments, I'd encourage you to begin working on muscle mass. You can build muscle and burn fat at the same time - just not as fast as you can build muscle if you're not trying to control weight. I wouldn't do one then the other, do both.

well first of all you have to lose the excess body fat you want first by dieting and doing aerobics including jogging once you reach your idea weight you can then start building the muscle up by lifting weights. It is a scientific fat that the body cannot burn fat and gain muscle at the same time. I use both protein and creatine do not listen to the people that say creatine is dangerous, research has been done on it and there are no side effects to it in fact your body produces creatine on its own and creatine is found in lots of food we eat everyday it is only if taken more then whats recommend I take creatine first thing in the morning when I am not working out that day when I am I take it 30 mins before I work out. I eat high in protein foods 1-2 hours before a workout and a protein shakes 5 mins - 1 hr. after a workout and right before bed. If you need help on any of this or anything else email me

The ideal times to take whey protein are:
1) First thing in the morning
2) Before workouts.
3) Immediately post workouts

Take creatine before your workout.

i'm not sure about creatine, i personally choose to avoid the stuff, but i do use a whey protein supplement. what i generally do is try to get the majority of my proteins and carbs by lunch time since i work out in the afternoon. avoid carbs as much as possible in the late evening, they won't do you any good while you're sleeping. i believe this is called "front-loading" your carbs, trying to get them in early in the day. by lunch time, i normally get about 80-90 grams of protein.
