Its best to add a layer of gravel so the urine filters down to the soil. Diluted bleach or diluted vinegar solutions work well.

I use a product called urine gone. It is for cats but they also have a product for dog urine and I used it on the dog kennel outside and it is absolutely amazing. go to www.urinegone.com and check it out.

We use lime but it can be realy messy and you may want to make sure your pets will not have a reaction to it first. You canget lime in the garden section on most store

um, I use Natures Miracle on my house floors, I have never heard of anyone using it on dirt though. You may check into it-it will get pricey fast though.
