If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symptoms and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Best tip, food has nothing to do with acne, whoever tell you other wise smack the up-side the head with a brick.
You need zinc and maganise in your diet, start with vitamins high in this and water will help remove the toxins out.
Also after working out or sweating shower and clean the body, best to shower verses a bath where your body once the skin is hot the pours open up, so showering helps from over-openning pours up.
A good soap, you can get nutrogena will clear the skin and anything with Benzo or other acne ingrdients after 4 hours the effect is not as good, a good price kit like acne free is good, but remember after 4 hours the acne fighter will loose effect so during a break out reapply.

One more thing about acne. Your skin is your body's main way of eliminating waste products from your body (through the pores). You need to EXFOLIATE your skin using a body/back brush or loofah everyday. On areas prone to acne, you need to follow up with toner (like you use on your face) and moisturizers.
Also, you can improve your skin by using DEEP BREATHING. This helps your body to eliminate wastes more effectively. The breathing technique is called The Breath of Life (outlined in Tony Robbin's book Unlimited Power).
The breath is a 1-4-2 (inhale-hold-exhale) breath. To do the breath, first INHALE through your nose as deeply and as long as you can without straining. Count as you breath in and remember the count (for example, say you counted (1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5) to 5). After inhaling, HOLD for 4 times the amount of time you inhaled (if you breathed in for 5, hold for 20). Then EXHALE through your mouth for 2 times the amount of time you inhaled (exhale for 10). As you get better at the breaths, your inhale/hold/exhales will become longer. Start out doing sessions of 10 breaths (takes about 5 minutes) 3 times per day. You will start to see clearer, smoother skin in about 3 days.

There are some acne body washes that you can get over the counter. Also try antibacterial soap.
