You didn't say if they were on the floor or on the backsplash

Hmm. has to be lots of ways. You can simply change the color. They make a do it yourself kit for this purpose. Another way would be to install a pot holder or such over them. Without seeing how they are located, I cannot say for sure, but there must be dozens of ways to hide them. a simple can of spray paint will do the job for a while, but yeah, they are tiles do getting regular paint to stick is a bear. You could simply put contact paper over them, or even good old duct tape then paint the duct tape. Stickers of flowers or such against the green might work. Hang art work over them, (such as children's artwork most people that have kids don't have enough room on the fridge anyway. If you can find it cheap, you could hang a strip of metal over the tiles then use magnets to hold up notes, artwork or even kitchen utensils. Paint a piece of wood the appropriate size with a color that you want, put it up over the offending area then put cup hooks in it and use it to display coffee mugs.....I don't know, use your imagination...there must be hundreds of low cost or even free ways to do what you want.

1) Replace them, which is messy and a pain.
2) Concrete over them - dye the concrete a difft color, but something you like, and then apply a thin coat over the accent tiles. It will give the floor a little texture. You'll need to seal it.
3) Best idea - buy a paint made for ceramics and paint them. You will need to seal it with polyurethane, but this would be the least expensive route.
