I like both answers above me I love Bernard Hopkins but if he fights Calzaghe he will lose by KO If Taylor bet Hopkins and Calzaghe can bet Taylor I have to go with Calzaghe did anyone see what he did to Jeff Lacy he destroyed him This fight is to hard for Hopkins at this point of his career he would do better fighting Mastev for the heavy weight title Calzaghe will keep coming until he brakes Hopkins down the referee stops the fight in the 11th round

I have to pick Hopkins in this fight. Bernard is a very smart and crafty fighter and he would figure out Calzaghe's style and counter him well. Hopkins is good defensively so even though Calzaghe may throw a lot of punches at Bernard, don't expect a lot of them to land like they did against Jeff Lacy, who had no defense at all. And Hopkins does pretty good against southpaws, so that shouldn't be a factor in the fight. I see Hopkins countering Calzaghe all night with straight right hands and mauling him on the inside and eventually winning a unanimous decision in a good fight.

Good question. Although Hopkins is 42 years old, he still has a lot left in the tank with great boxing ability, a strong chin and a tremendous will to win. Calzaghe is also a fine fighter that would give Hopkins some problems particularly early in the fight. Hopkins has a great defense and would withstand some exciting early round moments and outbox Calzaghe for the decision victory.

i think that hopkins could win a decision but i'm not sure. although i think calzaghe is way overrated, he does have good handspeed and throws a lot of combinations, something that could bother hopkins like it did with the taylor fights. hopkins, being that he is 42, doesn't throw that many punches anymore and is very defensive minded which will hurt him because a lot of judges will see that calzaghe is throwing a lot of punches and will give him points for that. same thing with the taylor fight, hopkins made taylor miss with a lot of punches, and even landed more punches than taylor did in both fights, but the judges saw the workrate of taylor and gave him rounds based on aggressiveness. i'm still leaning towards hopkins to pull off a decision but i wouldn't be surprised to see calzaghe win either.

Lot of hopkins fans letting their emotions get the better of them. Calzaghe is a hurricane of accurate punching. Hopkins is 42 and throwing something like 20 punches per round He will get overwhelmed easily by Joe C.

B Hop. Too slick, too smart, too skilled defensively. Calzaghe would not be able to pot shot Hopkins as he did Lacy. Bernard by Unanimous decision. As he would give Joe a boxing lesson.

I will put my money on Bernard Hopkins. Although the man is 42, he still has power and skill. Bhop is also one of the dirtiest fighters out there, which gives him an edge.
