Do you let it foat on top or let it sink to the bottom with sinker in a small river?

You want to keep the eggs near the bottom. Use a sinker heavy enough so you can keep contact with the bottom but will still let the bait move along, bouncing on the bottom. I tie a small styrofoam ball in the egg sac to keep it just off the bottom. Sometimes the bite will be very light so be ready all the time. A long rod also helps with the drift. I use an 8'6"ml Kunnan Competitor rod. The longer rod helps you keep the bait moving by lifting slightly if you feel the sinker hang up. It also lets you use lighter line by acting as a shock absorber. Good luck fishing.

Drift on the bottom. Keep it moving so use the lightest sinker you can to keep it slowly drifting.
