If you are incapable of learning such a simple computer program, you might as well drop out of school now and go on welfare.

The only thing I truly hate about MATLAB is that the indices start at 1 and do not allow for 0.
Other than that, you just need to practice with it.

Matlab is awesome.
There is a reason that the ARMY, AIRFORCE, Lockheed, and many many (many many many) others use it. Its not because its cheap or fashionable, but because its powerful. It does its job amazingly well.
All languages suck.. they all have drawbacks. All operating systems are dogs.. they all have critical flaws. There is no perfect anything in hardware or software for computers. But for a specific task with specific constraints there are better and worse tools.
Matlab is an awesome tool for what it does. Whether or not its indexing, or the kluginess of its interface to the symbolic engines, or the lack of a code-presentation format (unlike MAPLE) annoy you you must admit that its high level language with many (many many many) easy to use tools, and nice quick powerful graphics are very powerful, very useful components of a very useful piece of software.
